Language

The official language of Egypt is Arabic, but English and French are widely used, especially with tourists and visitors.

How to reach Upper Egypt
By air:
• Flights from international countries into Cairo International Airport

• Check with your local Egypt Air office for flights flying directly into Luxor international airport

• Domestic flights:
  o Daily Cairo- Luxor
  o Daily Cairo- Aswan
  o Daily Aswan- Abu Simbel

Other means:
• Please advise us if you planned on traveling by any other means such as by bus or train.

Entry requirements

Tourists holding American and most European Nationalities can obtain visas from the international airports in Egypt (Cairo, Luxor, Sharm el Sheikh and Hurgada) upon arrival. It is however recommended and preferable to get one before leaving your country of departure as queues can be long during busy airport hours.
